During an official visit to Bavaria and Rosenheim, the crown princess of Thailand, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, learned about the Kathrein group’s international activities from CEO Prof. Dr. Anton Kathrein himself.
The Rosenheim antenna specialist company has been operating in Thailand for many years now. At KATHREIN-Indochina Co. Ltd. (at present eleven employees, annual sales 2007: over 7.3 million euros) in Bangkok, they not only supervise the surrounding region, but Laos and Cambodia as well. |

The crown princess received detailed information on the professional training programmes offered at Kathrein – at present, 433 young individuals are preparing for professional life as apprentices, interns and graduands. This fact was of particular interest in view of the joint activities in the “Bavarian Thai Academic Cooperation Center (BTACC)“, whose steering committee Prof. Dr. Kathrein is also involved in, since he is the chairman of the university council of Rosenheim’ s University of Applied Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Kathrein: “This co-operation is very important to us since we ultimately recruit our skilled labour here. The university’s international orientation in Thailand and Rosenheim strengthen our ties.“ In addition to various ministers, the crown princess was also accompanied by roughly 15 professors of “King Mongkut’s University North Bangkok (KMUTNB)“ and the “Rajamangala University of Technology (RMUT)“.
An entry in Rosenheim’s golden book by First Mayor Gabriele Bauer at the City Hall and a visit to Rosenheim’s University of Applied Sciences with UAS President Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alfred Leidig rounded off their day trip to the city on the Inn. |
