'This is how the cooperation between
university and industry works' The
advanced technical college in Rosenheim has
been cooperating with the 'King Monkuts Institute
of Technology North Bangkok' (KMIT NB) very
close and effectively for years. This cooperation
is stamped by the lively exchange of ideas
between the professors of the KMIT NB and

college in Rosenheim.
By the mediumof the former senator of the City of Bangkok,Dr. Chumpol Thiengtham, who also is a member of the university council of the KMIT NB, deputations of universities, ministries and companies from Thailand pay visits to the City of Rosenheim and the advanced technical college there several times per year.
Within the context of a UNESCO conference in Bangkok, dealing with 'international training for engineers', the president of the advanced technical college in Rosenheim, Prof. Dr. engineer Alfred Leidig, has recently visited the KMIT NB, the Ministry for Economic Affairs and important companies operating in electrical and plastics industry in Bangkok. On their visit at the KATHREIN-Indochina Co. Ltd. in Bangkok, Dr. Chumpol and Prof. Leidig were cordially received by the manager Chavalit Winichagoon and his employees.
Prof. Leidig telling from his visit: 'We were
brimming over with enthusiasm for the new
company building, the brand-new interior and
furniture and the newly-installed measuring
cell. Mr. Winichagoon showed us round the
company; he in particular took pride in his
company’s excellent sales figures despite
a low stock. According to him, one of the
reasons for this was that KATHREIN-Indochina
would immediately carry out checks and tests
of the components supplied by other companies
in Thailand, and would immediately deliver
them to their customers.' Prof. Leidig went
on explaining that Chavalit Winichagoon had
been particularly taken with a student apprentice
of the advanced technical college in Rosenheim
who did a great job for Kathrein half a year
ago. As the professor pointed out, Chavalit
Winichagoon had expressed his hope for another
student apprentice or graduand of the advanced
technical college in Rosenheim studying electrical
or information engineering to work in his
company very soon. Prof. Dr. engineer Leidig:
'Due to our visit we were also able to initiate
the cooperation between KATHREIN-Indochina
and the KMIT NB’s electrical engineerings
study course in future. ,That’s a classical
example for how the cooperation between our
advan-ced technical college, companies abroad
and universities can work.' |
